Autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN OBD-II Scan Tool

Worked flawlessly, bought to check a scan code and clear it. This product did all I asked for a reasonable price. Would recommend it to a friend.

* Retrieves generic and manufacturer specific Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC), includes definitions lookup software on CD and displays DTC definitions on screen
* Features an easy-to-read backlit LCD screen, multilingual menu and DTC definitions and standard 16-pin OBD-II connector–no additional cables are needed
* Retrieves VIN (Vehicle Identification No) on 2002 and newer vehicles that support Mode 9
* Supports the CAN (Controller Area Network) protols and all other current OBD-II protocols
* Works with all OBD-II compliant U.S., European and Asian vehicles (OBD-II is standard on all cars sold in U.S. post-1996)

I really just wanted something that I could plug into my car to tell me if the check engine light was something that required a trip to the mechanic or if I could just clear the code and forget about it. This allows me to do that both on my Subaru and my BMW. I have to look the codes up online, but given what this thing costs and how much I use it, I have no issue with that.

For the BMW, I needed to take the car to the dealership to get it fixed. For the Subaru, the code just needed to be cleared as it was a one time thing. Very useful especially on the Subaru which disables the cruise control when the CEL is on. Very annoying. Now I don’t have to turn the car on and of 10 times to wait for the code to clear. It’s very nice having a tool like this.

Jackson couple donates digital camera to each on-duty city police car

A Jackson couple reached their goal to put digital cameras in each on-duty city police car by the end of the year.

Jeff and Lori Grantham today donated their fifth and sixth cameras to the Jackson Police Department. Jeff Grantham dropped the cameras off and was met with many thanks from officers, he said.

Earlier this year, the Granthams started donating cameras to the police department. They listen to the scanner frequently and noticed officers were always asking other officers to drive cameras to the scenes of crimes.

The department had only three cameras before the Granthams got involved. Two were for use by evidence technicians. Only one was for patrol officers, Lt. Elmer Hitt said in September. Budget constraints prevented the department from replacing or buying new cameras.

Each high-resolution camera, selected by the police department, costs the Granthams about $300. They also provide a case and cleaning cloth. The couple saved up whatever money they had left at the end of the month to buy the cameras.

Early next year, the Granthams plan to approach the Jackson Fire Department and ask to help.

More information about the Grantham’s “Cameras for Cops” program is available at their website, www.giftofpain4u.com.

ViewSonic VX2250WM-LED 22-Inch Reviews

Very bright and clear monitor. Runs relatively cool. The colors seem to be just a bit washed out and a little heavy on the blues and purple. But the clarity and sharpness is so much better than a Dell LCD that I have next to this one. I had no idea what I was missing! Note that the stand is quite short and does not have built-in height adjustment, so you may need to use a monitor stand or a book to bring the monitor up to an ergonomically correct height.

Super great monitor.

Arrived onetime and secure.

Very easy to setup (plug & play) on Apple MBP (2007 running Lion). Controls are easy and intuitive. No need to ever read the manual. I just unpacked and plugged the power and DVI cable in and started using it. Might want to warn you it is set to full brightness upon installation, so you might want to turn that down.

Very clear display, low heat even after many hours of use.

PRIME make it even better. ORDERED 11am Sat, DELIVERED on SUNDAY by 1pm…WOW!

Being a neophyte; went to a local big box to purchase a new monitor. Salesman was less informed than I was and sent me home with one of the only monitors in stock. It had no speakers. Went online and found this monitor; ordered late Monday evening and it arrived at my home on Wednesday. Easy to install, and the sound is great.

HP Deskjet 1000 Printer Reviews

I love this little printer! The last one I had, and Epson All-in-One, was temperamental and was ultimately destroyed by a small piece of dried wall spackle, and I needed a cheap replacement. All I have to say is, this is a sweet, hard-working little printer! Though it doesn’t come with a USB cord (didn’t matter for me, I had one from the Epson), I think it’s great for the price. Not to mention, it’s extremely environmentally friendly because the HP 61 ink cartridges are over half recycled content. So yeah, if you want a simple, low-cost, single-function pal of a printer, go for it!

I bought two of these this past weekend, one is hooked up to a desktop computer and the other to my laptop, they work great! Installation is a snap, just have to follow the instructions with the cd provided and you’re done in a few minutes. For my application, it’s absolutely perfect, no more wasted paper as with some other printers. Printing is super fast as well, in both b/w & colour. For 29.00 bucks, you just simply can’t go wrong!

This was such a good deal. I love the printer. Even though it did not come with a USB cord, I was able to also purchase one for less than $4 off of Amazon!

The printer is lightweight, easy to install and even came with a little mesh tote bag.

The black ink costs $13.50 for a replacement, but that’s not too bad seeing as some other ones cost upwards of $20 or more.

This was my first ever printer and I am happy with it.

It seems like it can be a little loud, but maybe because I am so close to the desk it is on.

It’s compact and great.

I recommend it.
